Entrepreneurship skills are a requirement for any business to thrive well in this competitive world.
Entrepreneurship skills include creativity, innovativeness, integrity, persistence, patience, people’s skills, and business acumen among others.
For successful entrepreneurship, one must;
First look internally at what talents, gifts and skills one pocesses that may bring in some money
Have a business plan put in place that takes into account the kind of venture one is going into, the amount of finances that will be required to kick start the venture, what obstacles and challenges one expects to experience as the venture grows, what growth or expansion strengths are available
Thirdly, they must ask themselves what finances are available at hand to invest in the venture from one’s savings, friends,, relatives and even borrowing in terms of bank loans;
o From savings, one will look at any funds available that have been set aside that could be used to start off the venture
o One may approach friends who are able and supportive for the start-up funds of the venture. These funds could be used to add up on to existing savings in order to ensure the venture kicks off with sound financial backing.
o Relatives are usually very supportive especially to one of their own in whom they see potential and determination to succeed.
o Bank loans should be taken only when necessary as they bite into the profit by way of paying bank interest. Before taking a loan for a first time venture, an entrepreneur needs to find out whether there are other sources of funds and only take a loan as a last option.
An entrepreneur must also do some research in a bid to establish what kind of market exists for the kind of niche they want to venture into, how big the market is as well as lay down penetration and survival strategies while operating in this market.
Entrepreneurship drives the economy of any nation hence it should be embraced and encouraged through training and sharpening of business skills for it to continue making a difference in the world today.
