Are Entrepreneurship skills acquired at birth or learned in life?
Good question …are entrepreneurship skills acquired at birth or learned in life?
Don’t you just wonder how some people skillfully sail through to success in their business ventures while others have to sweat, agonize and struggle to go through the maze of challenges that life throws in their path to success? Is there something different that the first group does that enables them achieve success faster than the second group? Were they perhaps born with natural entrepreneurship skills?
What are entrepreneurship skills?
These are skills that enable one to have better business acumen in their business ventures. Who is an entrepreneur then?
An Entrepreneur may be said to be a leader who sees a vision through his day dreams and goes out to make those dreams a reality. Thus, an entrepreneur is a very creative and innovative being who looks out for opportunities and seizes them every time they come his way…especially so if they are in line with his dreams. He is therefore able to create wealth by making a profit through using his vision or dream and the chance that comes his way.
Is that all one needs to make it in the profit making business, you may ask? Probably not; the dreaming process happens to an individual. For one to turn the dream into reality requires certain traits such as Time, Perseverance, Patience, Insight as well as Vision Helpers.
Time takes into consideration the minutes, seconds and hours invested in the venture. It also gives birth to growth of a vision or dream thus enabling maturity to take place.
Perseverance builds character of the entrepreneur. Through perseverance in hard times, a dreamer is able to internalize, think through and present a concrete image of his vision to others thus enable them easily buy into his dream.
Patience produces sound mental development of the entrepreneur such that he is able to see the fruits of his labor. A fruit seed planted today will require patience as one daily tenders the seedling to maturity. With patience, one will soon eat the fruits from the seedling.
Insight on the other hand gives intuition to the dreamer and in some way direction as to which way to go while using hindsight as steps towards a better foresight.
The vision helper enables the dream to grow and bear fruit by assisting the dreamer through sometimes providing the right resources, ideas which may include critisizing the dreamer and giving sound directions for the entrepreneurs dreams to become a reality. Some may call the vision helper good luck, others fate and still others – mentors.
While these traits mentioned above may be born to an entrepreneur, others may be acquired in life depending on the environment in which one finds him or herself in. If the environment in which one grew up required him to fight for survival for everything especially for food and shelter, then such a person will be more bold than others.
All said and done, entrepreneurship does require a high percentage of boldness. A boldness that goes out to turn our individual dream into reality where by not only the vision holder benefits from it but also the community around him. A boldness that requires the vision holder to bring out with time a product, service or fruit that was hidden deep in the soils of his creative heart and mind that others around him could not see or fathom. A boldness that pushes him or her to step forward and pursue his dream even when those around him urge him to give up and and take on another idea because things seem so bleak.
An entrepreneur is truly a leader who decides to go for his dream even when all odds are against him and he truly always accomplishes what he sets out to do ….successfully.
