Introduction
Nurture Smart Youth Program Kenya (NURSYP Kenya) is a Non-Governmental Organisation focused on promoting youth development by designing youth programs and policies that empower young people thus ensuring youth participation in the economic development of the country.
Vision
To empower and nurture the youth to economic and social-self sustainability in partnership with God.
Mission
To enable the youth maximize their full potential by increasing their opportunities for economic and social growth thus providing a chance to earn an honest living.
NURSYPK Programs
Nurture Smart Youth Program Kenya’s programs include the facilitation of training of youth in Life Skills, Leadership (and Mentorship), Entrepreneurship, Business Management and Project Management.
NURSYPK Life Skills Training
NURSYPK is an acronym that stands for Nurture Smart Youth Program Kenya. NURSYPK life skills training consist of the following training sessions;
a) Personal Self-Management Skills
Where the participants learn to build a positive image of themselves, identify talents that propel them to their destiny, build moral values as well as enhance their self-esteem and assertiveness.
b) General Social Skills
Here participants learn how to communicate effectively, building relationships, self-control and avoid violence and ethnicity.
c) Personal Development Skills
Here participants learn how to set personal goals, develop problem solving skills, make wise choices in life and how to manage their emotions while they remain focused on set goals.
NURSYPK Previous Activities
Taken students of St. Peters Primary School, Nairobi, through a Life Skills Training Program from June 2012 to August 2012.
Taken students of Faith Ventures International Christian Academy, through a counselling session in December, 2012.
Taken Juveniles of Industrial Area Prison, Nairobi (ages 13 -17), through a Life Skills Training Program in March to May, 2013 in collaboration with Life Song Reading Club as well as CITAM Woodley.
Currently planning to take youth in JK Rehabilitation Centre through a Life Skills Training Program – June to August 2013.
